section VI

to sons and daughters

The work consists of a construction that refers to the ambiguous pertaining to the value weight of the “accident” and the conditions of its production. The accident as deflection but also as affirmation of the system. 520 plastic bags were cut into strips and weaved, thus creating a multicoloured web of inter-depending assembly. A number of the bags that were used come from bio-slitting material. In 12 months, this created form knots will be “accidentally” given to deprivation, transforming the superficial normality into an event.

homo touristicus

In the beginning of the 80s the museum experience has an unprecedented growth, which converts the museum institution from a collectivity-forming field to a narrative mega-structure. Considering the evolution in the field of geopolitics, the architecture of spectacle and the economic parameters of a blockbuster exhibition we can easily discern the strategies of an affirmative mechanism which has replaced its focus, in cognitive, sociological and anthropological aspects, from the Society to the Domain. In accordance with the above strategies, the International Council of Museums (ICOM) has replaced the term "spectator" with the term "homo touristicus" in order to approach the main body of museum visitors in marketing terms.
